How The Professor aka Sergio made every woman who has watched Money Heist fall in love with him

Professor (Money Heist)

I was walking down the memory lane today and listening to Avril’s Lavigne ‘Girlfriend’ and somehow my mind wandered towards one person. You’d laugh if I told you how, well the Professor. THE PROFESSOR? You’d ask, and I’d say yes, our beloved Professor Sergio. Well at times, don’t you think one of the Money Heist girls would be singing the song for our dear Professor. Hasn’t Tokyo tried her luck enough? Making the professor extremely uncomfortable. And why not? What’s not to love about him?

Professor (Money Heist)

When I first saw him, I found him to be sheepishly cute, almost like a Mamma’s boy. The spectacles, well, they just added another dimension to his look, the kind of seriousness and appeal his role needed. Without the specs, I don’t think he would have made it to the obsession list for many across the Globe.

Anyway, enough about the X factor regarding the Professor, let’s get to the real deal. Money Heist has had the best of the best characters, not only in terms of actors but also in terms of the whole relatability factor. But one person that strikes as the Hercules in the series is The Professor. He has been portrayed as an extremely intelligent character, and I’d give it all to the scriptwriter.

Professor (Money Heist)

What is there to like in him? Well, he is extremely smart, the execution of the heist is his brainchild, he brought in heisters from all across the globe to help him carry out the biggest heist in the history of Spain, and more, he cares about the people he works with, and to ensure transparency he even protected each of their identities.

The Professor is not the daredevil that you would see but he is crazily brave when it comes to facing situations. While he cannot hold a gun and go all out, give him a space of his own, and tell him to monitor everything, talk to the police and invoke sympathy for the heisters in the eyes of the public, he will do it all.

He is shy around women, but his very nature made the lead inspector fall in love with him, and side with him. The Professor does not believe in impulse decisions, he plans, and weighs in every aspect there could be, and only then plans his next move.

You need to remember that all the heisters were acting on his orders, and that was the sole reason that he heist was a successful gig. The Professor is Practical yet emotional, he is brave yet scared, he is intelligent yet shy when it comes to women.

Initially, I was in love with the character he was, however, as time went by, I fell in love with the man who played the part as well. Because, well, he convinces you to believe in him, he makes you forget that he is just an actor playing a part but instead he makes you a part of his heist. You start imagining yourself to be an Adelaide or a Mumbai, inside your head. That has been the power of Alvaro Morte.

The man with the face and calmness of a saint makes you believe in the heist, and slowly and steadily takes you on his side of the camp. You won’t even realize and the police become the bad guys, and The Professor and his army become the real deal. It is The Professor who makes you fall in Love with Money Heist.
