WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier are proof that Marvel is flourishing on OTT platforms

WandaVision

There are two kinds of fans in the world, DC fans and Marvel fans. I’m the latter, who happens to love every Avenger that walked the face of this earth. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has for more than a decade entertaining its customers and has been a huge success. Be it Iron Man, Thor, or the Black Panther, there’s hardly been a movie that has caused disappointment amongst the audiences.

Marvel started with releasing two films each year, which became three starting in 2017. However, it was the year 2020 which saw no theatrical release due to the pandemic. Black Widow which was supposed to release in 2020, has been pushed to July 2021.

Winter Soldier

While it seemed like there would be no Avenger this year, Marvel’s mastermind came up with a Trump card in the form of TV series for the second half of 2020. Starting with WandaVision, Marvel explored the unexplored characters, the ones who weren’t given the real avenger treatment.

Marvel decided to give you a sneak peek into the lives of the unsung legends as they’ve called them. I didn’t have a lot of hope from WandaVision, but when I completed the series, I was blown away.

Winter Soldier Falcon

The release of WandaVision made me realize that Marvel had so much content in its Kitty. If you check their plans for TV series, three years are well taken of.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier was another hit that Marvel released on Disney+ and it has been very well received by the audiences as well. The best part about these TV series is that the makers have been able to explore the storyline more because of the extra screen time they had.

WandaVision

Each episode has been left on a cliffhanger, making you wanting more. Moreover, the seasons for both these series have ended on such a note, that Marvel has already made the audiences desperately wait for the next season.

A couple of years ago, it didn’t seem like a series would do that well. However, with the pandemic seeing no end in sight, the series was a way to reach the audience without the usual movie releases being affected.

Falcon

Both Falcon and The Winter Soldier as well as WandaVision have not only had great audience feedback but also a good critical reception. They’ve been loved, and people can’t wait to see more such creations.

I think Marvel has already moved ahead of DC in the TV series game. (It could be my Marvel love talking). And with Loki coming up in June, it does look like Marvel is all set to blow our minds away further.
